Hurricane
by Bryce Regian
The most powerful force of nature is a woman of storm
Her embrace will leave you cold, soaked to the bone, and shaking
Her touch will fill you with adrenaline
And her kiss will leave you stranded
You’ll wade knee-deep in the waters of the flood
Reflecting on the sirens you heard
Voices of reason warning you of danger
Make sure to protect all of who you are
Because she’ll gladly swallow it whole
Just when you’ll think you can’t take much more
You’ll stare at the lightning stricken sky and find a sudden calm
Reminded that even in the eyes of a hurricane
You are someone deserving of rest
